Why did I write this book?
It's simple. I wanted to share with other people HOW to integrate gratitude into their lives. I wanted to let people know that if you are feeling overwhelmed and lost, that gratitude can be a secret weapon. I write about gratitude in both my other books - WTF to OMG: The Frazzled Female Guide to Creating a Life You Love and Happy on Purpose.
I am just a regular woman who got to a point in life where circumstances began to overwhelm me. Divorce, single parenting, fulltime work, a sick child, a car accident ... I was being buried in negative thoughts. Gratitude SHIFTED and TRANSFORMED my mindset, increased my happiness and changed my life without my life really changing at all.
It is such a simple action we can take but it is LIFE ALTERING. I hope you find it helpful to have some guidance as you explore the practice of gratitude.

GRATITUDE journal for thanksgiving

I have been researching gratitude journals for some time.Most of them will tell you to list 3 things/7 things for which you are grateful and then count your blessings at the end of the year.This one by Jennifer has a twist .The list part is obviously there ,but she takes you further inside this gratitude journey by helping you dig deeper .Often in life when you can't depend on others to make you happy,you have to introspect to find peace and happiness.I found this journal at such a time.I have taken out one star as I plan to give another opinion as I complete all the gratitude exercises and see how it helps me cope.

We are all so busy that we often totally overlook the value and magic of gratitude.
The author's words say it all really...
"Some days when I look around, I wonder why it appears to be socially acceptable to be unhappy, overworked and overwhelmed rather than excited and thankful for the simple things that bring us joy."
This is much more than a journal with a brief prompt and a series of lines for you to write within, there are assignments, tasks and reflections to complete to help us explore and discover what is important to us personally. The author speaks from her own experiences and shares how gratitude has helped her to overcome multiple difficulties in her own life.
The content is rich and the self-discovery process is right on.

Committed to gratitude

A friend sent me this journal after we talked about what we were grateful for. I've randomly started a gratitude journal or jar by writing 3 things a day but that got kind of boring and repetitive probably because they were at a surface level. I love how this author guides us slowly into a practice with assignments that start small and build to a deeper level. This might just keep me committed to a gratitude practice.
