for me, this book is a mind bender every time i re-read it. When i read the book again, i always seem to realize something new and amazing. This book was far ahead of its time, but very accurate. This book helps understand the human relationship to that of technology, specifically the television, but it can easily be adapted to the internet, and most other new technologies. Great book, that gets you thinking for sure about the way the world is and what it could be.

More background story for Garrus, my all-time favorite character of any game, any movie, any book, ever? YES, PLEASE!. If you are a fan of Mass Effect at all, then you know who Garrus Vakarian is. You would enjoy this, strictly for the look it offers into what happened to the fabulous turian sniper.

Mass Effect: Homeworlds series is a nice change of pace for the whole "war" feel of ME3. Homeworlds covers - brilliantly - stories from 4 ME3 companions: James Vega; Tali; Garrus; and Liara.

It's a great idea to be able to relate to these characters backstories, without the sense of urgency that the games give.

A Bulky Document Indeed

Professor Sharma minimizes the monumental task he faced by referring to the Indian Constitution as merely "bulky". It is the longest written constitution of any sovereign nation containing 448 articles , 12 schedules and has been amended 120 times. Compared to this behemoth the US Constitution has 7 articles and 27 amendments. Not only does he discuss the Constitution itself, he provides the historical background leading to its framing, and intersperses over 300 Supreme Court decisions as they affected the various constitutional provisions. He tends occasionally to interject his prejudices such as referring to the 1857 uprising as the First War of Independence but that does detract from the overall brilliant scholarship. The book is well organized and very readable. It sells in India for less that $ 5 which in itself is quite a remarkable accomplishment.

Even in sample it shows misplacing of lines and paragraphs from their proper places. It shows kindle book conversion is done without reviwing the results. This resulted in poor ebook of oterwise wonderful work. I request to the publisher to bring a correct ebook version.

About the Author
Lawrence S. Cunningham is the John A. O'Brien Professor of Theology (Emeritus) at the University of Notre Dame. He is the author or editor of over 25 books and is the Christianity editor of the forthcoming Norton Anthology of World Religions.   John Kelsay is the Bristol Distinguished Professor of Religion and Ethics at the Florida State University.  He also serves as Associate Dean in the College of Arts and Sciences. Professor Kelsay's research and teaching focus is on moral and political aspects of religion.  He has particular interests in Christian and Muslim perspectives on war.  Professor Kelsay's most recent book in this area is Arguing the Just War in Islam (Harvard, 2007).

Great Book to Learn the Fundamentals of Religion

The Sacred Quest is a great read for people interested in learning about the study of religion, as it explores the meaning of the "sacred" through different mediums, including the nature and definitions of the words "sacred" and "religion," the appearance and language of the sacred in our daily lives. The authors also explore the many different types of sacred communities and rituals, which gives the reader a "crash course" into many different world religions and cultures. Another interesting aspect which the author delves into are the questions of evil and morality, although I found these two sections to be a little confusing and awkward to understand. Overall, the author does a great job of explaining the terms and ideas presented, and I would recommend this book for anyone interested in learning more about this fascinating subject!

Getting to the heart of what Religion actually is

Here goes that old, old college student again. 80 years old and a sophomore, and, yeah, bragging about it a bit. This semester I decided on a unit about Religion. Unlike a sectarian school syllabus such as might be found at Notre Dame, BYU, or SMU, this course, offered in a state school is non-sectarian. I am a devout member of a Christian faith, but I have always had an intense interest in the faiths found in all the variety all over the world. This book is one of the assigned texts, and, rather than describing what Mormons or Muslims or Buddhists "do", it digs much deeper, starting with a chapter on the task of defining "sacred". Eye opening, eminently readable, and engaging.
