It was a good read. My only real negative was the heroine's stubborn determination to sacrifice herself for her land. It was understandable to a certain extent but after a while it just got annoying.

Once I started I couldnt put it down and finished it in one evening. All of the characters in the book were great. Since I have been around cutting horses for 20 years I enjoyed the whole book. Its especially nice when an author does research and is accurate.

About the Author
William A. Simmons is professor of New Testament studies and Greek at Lee University. He has taught New Testament studies and Greek for over twenty years in Europe and the United States. Dr. Simmons takes us into the world of the New Testament in an exciting and insightful way. Scholarly, yes. Boring and dry, no. Offers meat on a stick with dessert on the side! The illustrations, photography, time lines, and maps are excellent. The organization of the book and readability is also fantastic. Great quality at a very affordable price. Should be a part of any manners and customs library. A must for all pastors, preachers, and Biblical teachers.

A nifty little book with many older songs.

Dear prospective buyer, please use the Look Inside feature at the song names and the sort of rotated chord notation. Some reviewers said the chords are notated incorrectly, but they are wrong. The chords are rotated s 90 degrees counter-clockwise to how most people notate chords. I find it supremely easy to adjust and find the book tk be a value purchase.

Great song book...only one problem...there is an error all the way through...C is NOT the first fret as noted in the book. C7 is the first fret and C is supposed to be the 3rd fret! Other than that it is a good book for beginners. Perhaps the publisher can correct it and send me a new book!! Thanks

A modern "classic"

Geary's volume is my standard go-to source reader for medieval classes. The sources chosen lend themselves to a number of great pairings and cover a wide variety of key themes within the medieval period. Covering both the Early, High, and Late periods, the collection is useful for most regions and touch on the growth of the state, the institutional church, law, high culture, and more. I'm not sure if I sat down and came up with my "ideal source reader" that I would have something that much different than this volume.
